Andrew Voigt

In this workshop, participants will learn about the creative process behind board games from conception and prototyping to completion and publication. Learn how to take your first steps into game design, and what makes it unique as an art form. This workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Design Priorities: How do the theme, visuals, mechanics, cost, and intended audience come together to influence a design?

  • The human element - A game cannot exist without players. How do players influence the development, testing, and final product of a game?

  • Prototyping - Take a look at the different stages of prototypes, and how they change over the game's development.

  • Getting your feet wet - Learn about resources, tips, and tricks for getting started on your own design.

This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels.
